I am not sure if the Emprex 6310u comes in other layouts...I was told so...

if natami provides flash rom with enough space to put in it some additional modules (in this case few neccessary poseidon classes) it should be possible to have usb devices available at bootup. i have setup like that with my a4k-deneb. you can boot from usb thumbs, have early startup menu with the usb mouse, whatever you like.

I have been asked to check if the X500 PLUS keyboard works with a USB to PS/2 adapter...

I have connected the Emprex 6310U keyboard (the one used in the X500 PLUS) to a USB to PS/2 adapter and then in the back of my pc (PS/2 port).

It works fine.

So if the Natami, like the FPGAArcade, could use this method for a while. It obviously needs to be routed on the back but it shouldn't be too difficult.

That does not mean that the Natami currently works with the aforementioned keyboard/adapter combination. Somebody has to test it first.

I see...hope to get a Natami soon. :-)

I have quickly updated my page, sorry about the quality of the photographs, taken with a crappy mobile...

I have also taken a couple of photos with the Apple aluminium keyboard as I was asked to check if it fits.

It does but it might need a bit of adjustment.

Does it work with HW-banging software too, like a trackloader game? Do the keys get mapped to the native keyboard CIA registers? I have no personal experience of using USB on Amiga myself (except on my uA1 :) )

Ahhh ladies and gents...

Got a "friendly request" from CUSA to take the name off it...

Do you want me to take the Natami logo off the X500 PLUS too? It's better if I know now ;-)
Honestly I can understand they license the name but more than 2000 people have already visited the website, it's all free pubblicity for everyone...oh my...

CUSA should bugger off, X500 Plus has nothing to do with them.

What name? Did you use "Amiga" or just "X500 Plus"? And if you used "Amiga", how did you use it?

I think that every sane person understands that you are just showing some examples of how to decorate the case in different ways.

Great, the apple keyboards are the only good thin chicklet keyboards on the market. Not that i would prefer that over a good mechanical one anyway. but at least it would make this a plausible purchase.

Good work but I just don't like the A500 form factor because I always thought that it occupied just too much space between the keyboard and the monitor (I need that space for coffee cups, lunch, manuals a.s.o.). I'd prefer something in the A600 or A1200 form factor.

Of the retro cases I like the look of the C64C, for its similarity to the A500 and the shorter form factor you mention, although I never had a C64.
for some reason the a600/a1200 don't appeal to me as much... the happy memories are of the A500 but I know what you mean about the depth.

I remember my a500 had a nicer keyboard than the later a600/1200's had.. nicer curve to the keys.

alas not. that would be perhaps a job for aros kickstart as soon as it gets usb support.
