Dear all,

I am new to Natami and couldn't really find information about the current status and (future?) availability of Natami? Can't wait to be able to buy one ;-)

Cheers!
Tygre

PS. When searching the forum for an answer, I got the "error" message: Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /webpages/natami/www/knowledge.php on line 809

Thanks Adrian! My knowledge (and time...) is limited but is there things that I could do to help? Contribute?

Cheers!

How come there's not a single multi-millionaire with a helpful attitude like this one :)

I had very similar thoughts :))

Perhaps there is an old Amiga user out there or someone for other reasons to see this project realized, with a lot of money for free disposal.

I was only dreaming... :O

This is what multi-millionaire's spend their money on:

:-(

Doesn't anyone know anyone who won the lottery? ;)

EXTERNAL LINK

Are there really no rich Amigans out there? Maybe it is possible to persuade a rich oil sheik? :-D

There's a guy from my town who is an investor and billionaire. He recently gave away lots of money to a local football team. :-P Two years ago he moved to Belgium to escape Norwegian taxes. That decision saved him about $6666584:

Maybe we can try to get him interested in this project? It's worth a try, don't you think? ;-)

Meantime Minmig team is getting ready the 060 daughter board with 128MB RAM, 3 ports of USB 2.0, ethernet, and 128MB, as you can read o  EXTERNAL LINK  First in these race will collect the best prize, I think.

We are hungry any news about Natami then!

Yeah, why is it that it seems to be all Amigans are poor?

I think "The Man" is afraid of and working AGAINST Amiga (NatAmi).

We are poor because we have invested a lot of our pennies to used Amiga HW that still seem to cost a fortune :)

Yeah a billionaire/lottery winner would indeed fit the picture right now! :D

Or a kickass Kickstarter campaign.im sure we could raise a nice sum of money. If i were a rich millionaire son of a gun id fund natami in a heartbeat.a millionaire or kickstarter.

I was about to post about EXTERNAL LINK when I read your last post. Would this not be the best possible answer to get funding and push project along, or maybe its not matter of funding now just the time that the team has to work on the project I guess?

I think many amigans would support a natami kickstarter campaign. It could be viable maybe to do one when the natami board is ready for production. It could maybe aid production/cases/ marketing or other uses for natami.Im certain a kickstarter campaign would work.

Hi all!

Thanks for your interesting answers ;-) If the Natami Team needs funds, what about having some kind of "bounty" as people do for AmigaOS4? (But maybe this option has already been discussed and dismissed?)

Cheers!

Hi all!

It seems that this idea has already been brought up on the thread at: CLICK HERE
Let us see what comes out of the discussion there!
Cheers!

Good point.. although the pictures I seen did not show USB which is dumb as it is IMPOSSIBLE to find chiclet style PS2 keyboards.. all USB and the USB adapters fail :-(

The USB chip is live on the bus. This means, that there could be an OS driver in Kickstart to talk to the USB chip and implement keyboard (USB HID) support. This would be like this product: EXTERNAL LINK
I.e., as far as I know, it would work in OS friendly applications, but not in games which reads the keyboard registers directly.

So from a hardware point of view, Natami already supports USB keyboards as much as a classic Amiga + Deneb USB + USB keyboard does. (Apart from drivers! There are no drivers for this yet.)

The Natami chipset could however, talk to the USB chip directly, and make the Amiga hardware registers for keyboard look like they came directly from an Amiga or PS/2 keyboard. This is not implemented and it can not be done in normal software, it must be done in the FPGA. This is almost exactly the same as "legacy USB keyboard emulation" in the BIOS settings in many PCs.

The reason your adapter does not work, is likely because it is not a proper protocol converter. There are real ones which actually DO work:

Where is this? I can't find what you're talking about. Is it th  EXTERNAL LINK that you're talking about? It's not a MiniMig it's made by MikeJ and he's built it himself from scratch :) Very impressive piece of work.

The hardware is not Minimig, but the HDL code is based on Minimig.
