What is your opinion of the Natami project? Would you be
interested in making Classic a500/a1200 style cases(similar to
the amiga fantasy case) for natami and for sale to users that
want to build their own systems. Do you plan to use the
potential of Natami to create chip or card that could work with
your motherboard under a new, common operational system?

While we have no immediate plans for an A500 replica, we will surely produce it one day. When that day comes we intend to make
allowances for Natami as long as it does not conflict with our design goals. Inclusion in our upcoming line of desktop models is more than likely possible.

A Natami custom chip or card would be great, but would require the
kind of R&D we can’t afford right now. However, if 500 people could
agree to put the unit cost in an escrow account as per our offer, wecould justify the risk and make it a reality.

sorry to say that but that is all marketing blabla right now. He also says that he has not and is not interested to invest in Aros ("Waste of money") and he has not negotiated with any other of the amiga camps (Hyperion, MorphOS team). At the moment there is no connection (except the brand) between the amiga community and this company.

Yeah ive read the thread on amiga.org and Barrys answers.I don't begrudge them but they currently seem intent on producing pcs and simply calling them amigas.I doubt that they will make much money selling pcs. There doesn't seem to be anything that diffrentiates their pcs from regular pcs So why would someone buy.If they could offer something a touch innovative or something which diffrentiates them from regular pcs manufacturers they would do better.Still maybe if things work out for them financially they might release something of interest at some point.I see natami as the new amiga.I just hope it doesn't take too long to be released.Late 2013 or thereabouts is when I expect to see the natami. This is my entirely arbitrary guess.

IMHO by just being mentioned by CUSA makes the Natami lose credibility to some extend.

He also mentioned the Minimig (AGA) several times.
But this project will stay GPL open-source because Commodore wants to "eat" the rights and would not allow outside developer to carry on the work.
Dennis v. Weeren had same idea but did not want to lose his brain-child this way. Therefore it went open source.

He literally wants to do nothing unless it's practically donated to him,.... when completed!

Do I misinterpret?

everybody will jump on the bandwagon "when it's done", as though they were an immense part of the undertaking.

There will even be people fighting to get the IP.
