I hope We can find as much as we can people from Amiga world, like someone from phase5 team and others, to invite them here. Ask them what they think about this superb project, and mayby to learn something from them.

Not entirely out of the question.

Old guard devs can be deeply attracted by a renewed 68k platform...

I think Rebol is quite cool actually. The only reason I haven't used it much, is that there is no open source implementation of the language. Rebol used instead of AREXX, or at the same time as AREXX, for scripting apps, would be really cool.

If you are interested, a variant (not really a clone) is being developed heavily right now as a compiled replacement to C, but looks like REBOL syntax.

The compiler is extremely small and produces native x86 assembly, currently only for MSDOS and MacOSX, but can be made to produce PPC or 68k as well under different OSes.

It can be seen at EXTERNAL LINK

The language name is Red and one of the ideas is to get rid of C, when using REBOL with high-speed extensions. It could of course be used to create any program that is normally created with C.

  The license is BSD.

Eventually the author would like to clone REBOL using Red (REBOL is written in C), but if you feel that REBOL does not have anything to offer, maybe Red will, beyond being just open source.

Let's be curious: Who's paying you for programming in this language?

I work for RM Asset, a German company, who makes financial analysis software for various rather big companies, 90% written in REBOL. We also help Carl in core development of REBOL 3.

As far as I know, we're all old Amigans. :-)

I have an email from Carl last year saying the Natami looked 'very interesting' (after I had send him an email with the question if he heared about the Natami). So he is aware of the project but I don't know if he kept following the developents. Would be nice though if he gets interested in it but I think he moved on.
