@Alan Haynes

Hello Alan,

The board does indeed comply with Mini-ITX (170x170mm) but is in reality a bit smaller (170x140mm).

What is millicode? does it simply mean trap+usal handler or something else?

AFAIK millicode is IBM language for what others call microcode.

Edit: It seems like millicode is some kind of enhanced instruction trap handler, sorry for the noise!

Code with 1000 bugs? :D

Logically the word in English must mean "Code with 1000 something" or it could mean "Code that is 1000x smaller" or maybe "Code that is 1000x slower".

Microcode is a more correct word to use in this case.

Please also mind that the 050 chart you are discussing is old and not uptodate. Our implementation route changed meanwhile. All 68K instructions are going to be implmented in the 050.

Very good news!

To me, this is by far the most interesting piece of hardware to come to Amiga-land recently.

Pat on the shoulder to all the dev team, seems we are having, and will have good fun.
I, for one, can't wait to order mine.

Cheers,

Andre

Hi Anton,

Ajc ;) is correct, I fainted, after I could not find five telephone jacks..... ;-) :-DDDDDD

THE BEAST IS ALMOST HERE!!!!!!

No, I mean HER HIGHNESS!!!!!!!!

A souped up version of the BEST EVER made computer, the SW was absolutely complementing the HW that was made for it!

It is pretty near exactly the way I would have made a computer if I could have done so.

I'm not concerned about what people think about me, it's completely selfish of me to need and want one, but I have to have the NatAmi (more likely 2, probably 3).... I've tried most of the other computers from 1979 onwards (that's when I started using them, 13 y.o.) and ONLY the Amiga and it's OS allowed me to do what I (being selfish, as stated earlier) wanted to do!!!!

And thanks to the efforts of TRUE HEROES that are the NatAmi Team, as well as many others here who will no doubt (AND HAVE) contributed with their HW and/or SW knowledge (and everything else too like art, music, etc.), a DREAM OF MINE is coming true!!!!!!

T H A N K Y O U T O A L L H E R E ! ! !

YEAH the ULTIMATE COMPUTER IS ALMOST HERE!!!!

NATAMI!!!!!! F.T.W!

Hi,

Maybe not the right place, but do you follow this thread at EAB forums about undocumentted Amiga features? Just in case :) to be the most compatible before production.

We're doing something important, will we be remembered? Does it make sense to be as stubborn as we are?

On the other hand I don't really care. We know what we're looking for and can choose it regardless of what others think...... WE are having our FUN! :-DDD

Not really. On new IBM mainframes CPUs millicode means something very close to trapping and emulating instructions but with some hardware support to make this special kind of traps very fast and few other things.

contrary to microcode.
n68k AFAIK have no microcode at all.

What signals is available on the 15Khz connector ?
RGB, Composite, S-Video ?

And will you make an addon board for it ?
If so with what connections?

Exactly what i wrote

So most probably no "millicode" at all or very little.
As kickstart would be able to work with only hardware-processed opcodes thing like 68050.library should solve that.
probably very little library.

In addition to Niclas' question:

What about joystick and Amiga mouse connections? Can a cable like this be used:

http://www.provantage.com/siig-cb-br0211-s1~7SII2083.htm

... or will a special cable be needed? If yes, will it be shipped with the board?

This is what other should think about instead of comparing it's features to other completely different machines or software.

Including YOU who complain about windows being too slow, openoffice being too large (and slow) etc. etc.
It really doesn't matter how big and fast is windows, openoffice etc. But if Natami with it's software will.

This is important as people who expect Natami will be better in running that kind of programs NOT MADE FOR IT - will be badly disappointed.

That cable or something LIKE that (maybe with different pinout to motherboard) will be ok.
I have no idea but most probably Thomas made pinout compatible with standard - certainly he don't want an extra fuss of making own nonstandard Natami cables.
