So, is this vapourware? I think most of us agree on it, after several years of waiting.

What most agree upon these days is not necessarily good , truthful or bright .

To have faith or decide not to have ... the decision is yours , each ones ... but it is better to abstain from deterring & dragging down a project , it is a bad habit to be cultivated .

I have good faith in the Natami project , and above that , in Thomas & his Team Members to do all the steps necessary , at their own pace , one day we'll see ...

Are naysayers & downer in any way useful , supportive or productive ? If yes , build them a monument for their achievements , they made it happen , right ?

Every period with a long time between announcements we get the same doom and gloom and vapourware accusations. I am very sorry that the spare time and money invested by people in this project is not enough to give you what you want instantly, but such is life.

Hm, I think according to the definition it is a close call.

I wouldn't say Natami has been advertised though. It'd be equivalent to taking orders (which Natami aren't doing, of course) without having a final, released product, then using tactics like delaying shipping and lying to consumers about the reasons they haven't got a finished product.

People may give up and leave.....

But.

EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM will come back for a computer that starts in less than 5 seconds and can be turned off in 1 second flat!

You CAN make postscript files on an Amiga. Wordprocessing has NOT really changed much since Amiga fell by the wayside. How about databasing? That's pretty much straight forward and easily handleable by an Amiga. Accounting? Has there been some major revision in that field that Amiga is incapable of resolving? Surprisingly, PDF files before what, 2005? are readable. Are lack of desktop shortcuts THAT MUCH of a deal breaker to NOT use an Amiga?

I need a manageable computer as much as I need to use the internet and play modern games.

At this time, is there still no even vague ETA for a "usable" NatAmi???

At this point, I think that people will accept any possible release date.

Even if it's strongly deemed a "fantasy timeline" based on the current speed of development. Got anything you can throw us?

I can here the crickets chirping. In other news, Ouya gets world wide publicity for raising $8.5 million:

  EXTERNAL LINK

We could have a N68k ASIC and a Natami laptop with that kind of money/interest. That's enough money to get serious with the project and take it to the next level but that would require team work, which starts with communication and cooperation. It's too bad the powers that be don't even bother reading the forum :(.

A better link is :

EXTERNAL LINK

I think, we don't need any more than the RKM's to keep the spirit of the Wonderful machine and nice Amiga software and hardware (that's true) engineers... Pedagogy and respect to the Youth !

For the NatAmi is that the name of Thomas and other members of team, will be in the AmigaOS(4) list for hardware guy contribution to this wonderful platform, not only when the board finished because already spread to developers... don't know when ; Thomas has a new job they said, perhaps vacancies too.

For now, dive into the Amiga univers is too kool !

RKM's spirit , there will be a wiki RKM's fight when the NatAmi team starts to document some software after documenting the hardware ... another story..

Hello Genius , chances are that You read these lines :) Yes , I know ... ,,,

The powers to be are : ' We+ ' , think it through , settle for that ... it will suffice .

I agree totally that communication & cooperation combined with enough good  creativity can make it all happen ( , too bad that there seems not to be enough  great faith in here ) . I would bet & beg to be totally wronged .

Moreover , I strongly hope , I always will , that All who have that special wish at heart start pouring it out , at once or anytime soon , the sooner the better , let us all get organised & take great advantage of the huge potential that lies within & between all . Good Luck will follow our inicial success in the first roadblocks .

Okey , so far so good , we will see the responses & then decide what is next .

Other News from the Realms : Wings , Cinemaware is on Kickstarter , raising Money for Wings HD , making also excellent publicity for the Amiga Platform Legacy , they are raising as well for other bestselling titles . Their plan is broad , they are open to make it happen on many platforms . They teamed up with the great guys from Raylight Games . The point is , ' We+ ' may have great games , ideas , visions , it is up there in the sky , precisely in the realm of your heart & headrooms . Now go for a walk to clear your mind & rise upwards , Check Cinemaware in the Kickstarter Bush :  EXTERNAL LINK
It would not be The Worst or such a Bad Idea to start raising for a Natami Run , a Laptop Miracle , or a Cool Chip to which connect Keyboard , Screen , Joyboard  & Other Periphericals .

I say : Let the Wurst grow 8) March into Victory ! Hit the Huns !

.oO I happen to know a company that could do a fabulous custom job to fit our motherboard into an up to date laptop , they are open to evaluate such projects Oo.JRT

Get Dave Haynie to sign into Kickstarter, but only if it's for NatAmi support.

What happened to the board Gunnar had?
Did the team members pay for their boards?
If they did and I assume they did then what is Gunnar doing with his?

Cheers,

Alan from downunder

Christoph Hoehne (N050 FPU) bought Gunnars Natami board.
Yes, of course we all did pay for our boards.
