Looks promising, allright ;)

Hopefully, the existing fpga-code can be reused only with small changes, thus speeding up the bringup of the system.

Personally i hope that one will be able to use a hard drive as a system disk and that a cf-card is not mandatory.

Interesting times ahead :o)

Thomas, I never met you but you are my hero. you and all the team obviously.
I patiently waited, and seen the result I'll wait all the time you need for the production batch.

Thank you!!!

Well done! Truly amazing job.
I'm already throwing the next question, when will you start shipping?
  (Shame on me!)
Also are you going to make a similar progress list as with the LX board or is this so much faster thing to do that there's no need for one? edit. I mean the update table, one with what part is fully implemented and what is still being worked on.

The system internal logic (FPGA code) and overall design strategy was evaluated on the LX board. On the LX board all components got either a major update or were completely rewritten.

The LX design is now ported to the MX while the design strategy is settled. This means that - hopefully - all changes are improvements to the LX design. Like the memory bus is expanding from 32 to 64bit. So there is work to do on every component. But only the DMA side of the components need to be improved.

As you may recall, the feature list on the LX board was not entirely complete. And also there are tons of bugs still in the system. But developing the system further is what we are here for.

This means, I hope that in a short while I can start the MX feature list almost at the point where the LX list is right now.

It's really an exciting news.
I fall in love with this project since some months and it seems the first date is approching.

Well done Thomas! I hope you'll be having a nice beer to celebrate at some point. Good luck with the bring-up, and if you get the time let us know how things are going like with the LX board.

Btw, are there any specs for the N68050 implementation?

Thomas, fantastic job with the MX board and thanks to Niclas for the labelled photo.
I think someone did mention the chip with the crab on it as a "sort of question" but I do not recall anyone giving a response to it.
The crab is the Realtek trade mark so I believe that this chip is the Lan chip. Please correct me if I am wrong anyone. Is it for any other functions?
I think it is a great idea implementing some of these common (to the pc world) bits and pieces as it hopefully will reduce production costs and make writing the driver software easier.

I have a question about the board: Is the Board in Mini-ITX format?
  See this link: EXTERNAL LINK
It does look like it to me.

Well Done Thomas Hirsch and Natami team members.
Looking forward to seeing the board in Action.

  Cheers from Downunder.
