Thomas has decided to verify the functionality of all components on the board before starting to work with the main Natami FPGA load again. Therefore, this means that he has gotten working screen output, not that the old core from the LX board has been loaded and booted to Workbench (even though it would be possible to do it). Currently he is working on PCI.

| Are all these different tasks to be completed first before you go on and bring over the rest of the code from the LX board? So for the MX board this is the current feature list: VGA out ................... working DVI out ................... o PCI ....................... transfer only, arbiter and config missing IDE ....................... PIO mode 0 working Compact Flash connector ... o NEC USB PCI ............... o RTL 8110 LAN .............. o (new) Battery-backed up clock.... working 15k Video out (module) .... o 15k Video in (module) ..... o Audio in .................. o

| I assumed that, for what it is worth. Also, in my humble opinion, except maybe for audio and 15kHz video, there is not much point in trying to skip anything.

| Now I got the LX chipset also working on the MX board. This means two things: The system is complete now. The next steps will be to continue to get a basic running system which will work for the development boards. Then, while several people can use and test the system the design gets further optimized. The current feature list: Chipset Features Frame generation .......... ECS, fixed 28MHz pixel clock SyncZorro Interface ....... preliminary version Copper .................... fully implemented, with buffered data fetch Video DMA ................. fully implemented 256 color registers ....... fully implemented Sprites ................... 16bit linebuffer blitter ................... basic implementation. Block and fill mode only, line to come Video priority ............ half implemented Scandoubler ............... fully implemented Interrupts ................ fully implemented Paula DMA control ......... fully implemented Audio out ................. fully implemented Disk DMA .................. 880k and 1760k, read only Serial Port Paula UART .... fully implemented Slow peripheral I/O ....... fully implemented (Joy/Mouse/Keyb/PRT/DSK/SER) PC mouse and kbd support .. o CIAs ...................... fully implemented Board Features VGA out ................... working DVI out ................... o PCI ....................... transfer only, arbiter and config missing IDE ....................... PIO mode 0 working Compact Flash connector ... o NEC USB PCI ............... o RTL 8110 LAN .............. o Battery-backed up clock.... working 15k Video out (module) .... o 15k Video in (module) ..... o Audio in .................. o

| Thank you for the update, Thomas. I can't wait to see more news like this =) Hopefully the showcase video will come soon, too :) You guys are my heroes, honestly. I would like to support your effort somehow, but really don't know how could I contribute :) Anyway, keep up the good work and good luck with further tests!

| Very good work! Don't worry about the speed Thomas. PC coders buy new hardware, Amiga coders Optimize :D

Great news. floppy write is IMHO really lowest priority. For everything else you will for sure need no more than half a year, so Natami will be ready before end of the world ;)Thanks again for GOOD news.
